Accounts Clerk - VFGROUP

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking to recruit an Accounts Clerk for our Group’s accounting team.

THE POSITION

VF Group, Malta’s leader in the luxury fashion retail, outdoor media and uniformity business is seeking to recruit an experienced individual in the position of Accounts Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Company

Our Retail Division represents the major luxury fashion and luggage brands including Hugo Boss, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Zegna, Fendi, Moncler, Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo and Samsonite.

Whilst our BTI Uniforms Division provides uniforms and workwear to most of its’ corporate clients and business establishments on the island.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job title:                 ACCOUNTS CLERK

Reporting to:          FINANCE MANAGER

ACCOUNT PAYABLE

  • Maintenance of sub-ledger for around 5 companies within the group, to include posting of invoices, credit notes, seeking approvals, reconciliation of supplier statements, running of month-end reports and review with Finance Manager
  • Preparation of payment cycle (monthly), posting of payments in accounting system and submission of remittance advices to suppliers
  • Closure of ledger within agreed timelines

BANK

  • Posting of bank charges, bank loan repayments, interest to related bank accounts on the accounting system
  • Posting of end of days cash sheets for all retail shops (Cash control)
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations monthly for review by Finance Manager
  • Unreconciled items to be posted and followed up each month

NOMINAL

  • Preparation of IC Related parties’ reconciliation for the group monthly
  • Shareholder account reconciliation
  • Support the compilation of VAT returns (with support of Finance Manager)
  • Updating of fixed asset register and monitoring of capex against budgets/ BOQS’s
  • Preparation of NSO declarations

AUDIT

  • Support the annual audit deliverables process within the agreed EOY timetables.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Interested applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a good knowledge of MS Office applications. Exposure to Shire burn, Microsoft Navision would be considered advantageous.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role would be highly desirable.
