Embroidery & Printing Operator (Part-Time) - BTI Uniforms

As part of our strategy for growth, we are currently seeking to recruit a  Part-time  Embroidery & Printing Operator for our BTI Uniforms Division.

BTI Uniforms is the leader in the provision of uniforms and workwear in Malta, catering for a broad range of corporate entities including catering, hospitality, schools, government entities, hospitals, and various other businesses. 

We provide a vast selection of office and work wear which can be literally, tailormade and customised to our client’s requirements in our manufacturing facility which has been providing made-to-measure tailoring services for the past four decades through our steadfast commitment to finest quality, design and good taste.

THE POSITION

The Embroidery & Printing Operator (Part-Time) will play a key role in the production process at BTI Uniforms. Reporting to the Factory Manager and General Manager, this part-time position involves overseeing the operation of embroidery and printing machines, ensuring high-quality production, and collaborating with the team to meet deadlines.

This role requires technical expertise and a hands-on approach to managing production tasks efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Setup & Operation:

  • Prepare and set up embroidery and printing machines for each production run.
  • Load designs, choose appropriate materials, and make adjustments as needed for accuracy.

Design Execution:

  • Interpret specifications from clients or the design team to ensure accurate execution of embroidery and printing jobs.
  • Oversee design placement and ensure it meets quality standards.

Quality Control:

  • Regularly monitor the production process to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
  • Identify and address any defects or inconsistencies during production.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Perform basic routine maintenance on embroidery and printing machines.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during production to minimize downtime.

Inventory Management:

  • Track inventory of supplies such as threads, inks, and materials, and notify management when reordering is necessary.
  • Ensure supplies are ready for upcoming jobs and production schedules.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other production staff and designers to maintain efficient workflows.
  • Coordinate with the team to ensure orders are completed on time and meet client expectations.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure machinery is operated in compliance with safety standards.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of production, including materials used and any issues encountered during the process.
  • Report progress to the Factory Manager and General Manager.

Customer Communication:

  • Handle client inquiries about order status and address any concerns or requests related to their embroidery or printing orders.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in embroidery or printing operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of embroidery and printing processes and equipment.

SKILLS

    • Strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality output.
    • Technical skills to operate, adjust, and maintain machinery.
    • Ability to interpret and follow design specifications accurately.
    • Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks within a part-time schedule.
    • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
