Assistant Store Manager

As part of our strategy for growth, we are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Store Manager for our new premium store.

THE POSITION

As the Assistant Store Manager you will use your passion for the brand as well as commercial and people skills to support the Store Manager in leading the whole store, maximising its full potential and profitability.
You will lead by example, setting the tone for the store, and provide feedback to your team that will result in more efficient, productive, and profitable store that exceed company expectations. It is your role to protect the Service environment by consistently making decisions that enhance the customer’s experience in the store and with the brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Acumen
􀂾 Manages product launches effectively and efficiently working in partnership with VM, Marketing, and Logistics to maximise the sales potential
􀂾 Meets sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to the store team
􀂾 Ensures weekly KPI meetings and daily Team briefs are conducted so that the team is aware of priorities and targets
􀂾 Completes store administration with due diligence and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures
􀂾 Reports on buying trends, customer needs and requests through the Weekly Trading Report
􀂾 Monitors sales and KPI data proposing any commercial initiatives necessary to achieve the assigned budgets
􀂾 Proposes innovative ideas to increase market share
􀂾 Collaborates with the Store Manager and our Marketing team to help facilitate instore events, connect with local communities, and deliver best-in-class experiences
􀂾 Thinks omni by seamlessly connecting the website and socials to the store and vice versa, helping to drive sign-ups and followers
􀂾 Prioritizes regular brand and product knowledge training for the team

Store Standards
􀂾 Maintains outstanding window, store, and visual merchandising standards in line with current brand guidelines
􀂾 Ensures all of the team are dressed for service throughout trading hours
􀂾 Ensures compliance with Store Operating Procedures
􀂾 Supports the Store Manager to ensure all legal training is carried out in accordance with due diligence requirements
􀂾 Ensures the protection of our team and assets by complying with all Health & Safety Policies

Team Development
􀂾 Supervises, assists and motivates the sales floor team to achieve sales and KPI targets
􀂾 Deals with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc)
􀂾 Manages team (identify team needs, train and motivate team, organize and plan schedules, manage unplanned absence, holidays and free days, resolve conflicts and work on teamwork)

Leadership
􀂾 Displays excellent leadership skills in supporting and guiding the team, through the constant practice of feedback and being an example in the store of professional behaviour and high performance
􀂾 Takes full ownership and accountability for store in the absence of the Store Manager
􀂾 Coordinates and supervises all Store’s activities
􀂾 Demonstrates effective time management skills
􀂾 Inspire team to meet and exceed performance standards
􀂾 Acts as advocate for the team, able to motivate others to achieve results

Requirements

Business Acumen skills – Proven ability to increase sales and profitability

Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and people management skill
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Technical Proficiency with MS applications
Ability to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends and Public holidays.
Must be fluent in English and preferably Maltese plus one other language
