Finance Manager - VFGROUP

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking to recruit an Finance Manager for our Group’s accounting team.

THE POSITION

VF Group, Malta’s leader in the luxury fashion retail, outdoor media and uniformity business is seeking to recruit an experienced individual in the position of Accounts Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Company

Our Retail Division represents the major luxury fashion and luggage brands including Hugo Boss, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Zegna, Fendi, Moncler, Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo and Samsonite.

Whilst our BTI Uniforms Division provides uniforms and workwear to most of its’ corporate clients and business establishments on the island.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job title:                FINANCE MANAGER

Reporting to:          CEO

NOMINAL

  • Ownership of the Nominal ledger for VF group companies within the group consisting of:
    • Accruals and Prepayments maintenance
    • Inventory and debtor provisions
    • Related party provisions
    • Fixed Asset / depreciation run
    • Right of Use asset accounting
  • Review and approve the IC Related parties’ reconciliation for the group monthly
  • Review and approve Shareholder account reconciliation
  • Payroll (CIR) reconciliations to be performed quarterly
  • Other Balance sheet reconciliations to be performed quarterly
  • Review of all Quarterly VAT returns aligned to fiscal VAT reporting, submission of returns online by the finance team
  • Compilation of Management accounts and variance analysis commentary (v. Budget & LY)
  • Monitors capital expenditure in line with agreed operating budgets

ACCOUNT PAYABLE

  • Review of month-end reports, incl. Ageing Review and approve Top20 supplier reconciliations for your group of companies
  • Review and signoff the monthly payment cycle for your group of companies
  • Ensures internal controls are being maintained and deadlines being adhered too.
  • Review DEBIT balances and ensure that balances are managed (not exceeding 90 days)

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

  • Review of Debtor ageing reports incl. update on debtor provision to be reflected in the accounts
  • Ensures internal controls are being maintained and deadlines being adhered too.

BANK

  • Review and approve the monthly bank reconciliations prepared by Accounts Clerks
  • Ensure unreconciled items are monitored and tackled within agreed timelines
  • To support the monthly cashflow forecasting exercise with the support of the CEO

COMPLIANCE

  • Updating of monthly reporting timetable and submission to Finance Team
  • Support CEO with the implementation of new accounting standards IFRS’s
    (when applicable) whilst supporting the implementation of an accounting handbook for the group
  • Support the annual objective/ appraisal process for the Accounts clerks and Finance admin staff under your responsibility

BUDGET & FORECASTING

  • Support CEO with the annual budget and rolling forecast

AUDIT

  • To ensure all annual audit deliverables are submitted in a timely manner to ensure the external audit is completed within the agreed EOY timetables

I.T

  • To support CEO/ Finance team with a transition from Microsoft Navision to Business Central – Project to be phased across 2024 and 2025.
  • To support the introduction of a power business intelligence data base to support the on going needs of the business

REQUIREMENTS

The chosen candidate is expected to be qualified ACCA or in possession of an equivalent degree in accounting. A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role would be highly desirable.

Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a good knowledge of MS Office applications. Exposure to Shire burn, Microsoft Navision, Dynamics, would be considered advantageous.
